DROP-IN/RESOURCE CENTRE

Our drop-in program assists women, gender-diverse folks and their families to meet their basic needs; equips folks with knowledge and opportunities to make informed decisions about their lives and; offers referrals, support, resources and supplies.

All women & gender-diverse folks are welcome to our drop-in to:
● Cool down/warm up
● Use the phone & washroom
● Receive snack, hygiene & menstrual supplies (available by donation)
● Grab information about and register for NEWC programs, groups and workshops
● Exchange needles; pick-up free safer sex & drug use supplies, including naloxone kits (as available).

Staff are knowledgeable about programs and services offered by other non-profit agencies and government offices and can refer folks to other programs that meet the needs of each participant.

Systems Navigators in Drop-In:

The Systems Navigator assists individuals in overcoming obstacles related to accessing and navigating various systems, including safety planning, protection orders, the justice system, and EIA, among others, within the community, while also offering advocacy as required.

The Eviction Prevention Navigator assists individuals who are presently housed yet face the threat of eviction, while also aiding in the development of strategies to avert eviction and sustain their existing housing.
