80% of the women & gender-diverse folks we support are Indigenous. NEWC’s knowledge keepers facilitate ceremony and access to community Elders so that participants can explore & reclaim their identities. Cultural identity is crucial for societal well-being as it fosters a sense of belonging, preserves heritage, and promotes social cohesion, and contributes to a richer, more inclusive society.
